The concept of Bedroom Artists originally stemmed from my audio-visual collaborative zine with producer, dreamradio, where I explored the idea of creating a visual identity through mixed media collages. To me, the term Bedroom Artists encompasses the idea of creatively expressing what is intrinsically important to you in your own spaces. Ranging from high quality music production to using spoken word as a form of addressing social issues, Bedroom Artists use different mediums and styles to portray their innovative ideas. The short documentary follows 5 Auckland creatives in their spaces, and explores the process and experience of creating some of their work. It also celebrates and showcases their work as it is now; a time capsule.
Casey is interested in utilising multimedia techniques. She is less interested in producing what is known as ‘good’ design and more focussed on creating individually stylistic, bold and unique works that seize one’s attention - whatever form that may be. Casey thrives on collaboration and has recently gained an interest in amalgamating visual and audio to create an overall eccentric and individualistic experience.
